Accounting software built for businesses here
DavoBooks is made by Webline Africa Limited, a Tanzanian technology company. We build for the businesses we trade alongside - traders, distributors, service companies and groups that have outgrown spreadsheets.
Most businesses do not have an accounting problem - they have a connection problem
By the time a business outgrows a notebook, it is usually running several systems at once: one tool for invoices, a separate till, a payroll file, a stock spreadsheet and a folder of receipts. Each one is reasonable on its own. The problem is that nothing talks to anything else, so somebody has to re-type the same transaction into three places.
That re-typing is where numbers disagree and where month end turns into a forensic exercise. DavoBooks was built to remove that step - to record a transaction once and carry it everywhere it is needed, from stock to the ledger to the report a director reads.
We started with accounting because it is the foundation, then added the operational modules that feed it: inventory, point of sale, payroll and projects. The result is a single platform where the finance team and the operations team are looking at the same truth.
Milestones
Beta testing begins
The first public beta of DavoBooks Accounting Software opened to invited businesses across Tanzania.
Accounting core stabilised
Invoicing, expenses, bank accounts, contracts and financial reporting were refined with feedback from real books.
Operations modules added
Inventory, point of sale, payroll, projects and customer records joined the platform so one system covers the whole business.
One connected platform
DavoBooks now runs accounting and day-to-day operations together, with audit trails and a read-only AI assistant built in.
Four principles that shape the product
These are the decisions we make when a feature could go two ways.
Built for how East Africa trades
Multi-currency invoicing, mobile money, local tax expectations and the reality of trading across borders are design inputs, not afterthoughts.
Numbers people can trust
If a figure appears in a report, you should be able to click through to the document and the person who created it.
Plain answers, in plain language
No jargon and no hidden conditions. If a feature is not right for you, we will say so.
Local support that responds
Support runs on East African business hours, so month end does not mean waiting until another time zone wakes up.
Come and look at it properly
Create a free account and run a real invoice through it in a few minutes, or ask us to walk your team through the modules that matter to your business.
Ready to transform your business?
